Most of the tourists, including 200 foreign nationals, stranded in Lahaul valley due to reached caused by untimely snowfall and landslides on the Manali-Leh highway were evacuated today after the road between Koksar and Baralach Pass was cleared.
Police and Border Roads Organisation jawans had cleared the road between Koksar and Baralach Pass and were working on a patch near Sarsu, officials said here today.
They added that National Audit and Accounts Academy Director-General P.K. Mukhopadhyaya and seven probationers, who were reported missing since July 4 during a trekking expedition have been traced to a guest house at Chhota Dar in the Spiti Valley. It would take a while before they could be brought back as the road was still breached at several places.
