BRO grinds to a halt , owner of shop # 108 rejoices
April 6, 2009Saturday saw renewed snow in Lahaul and around Manali : 20 centimeters of snow in Keylong. BRO had to halt clearing the Manali-Leh highway between Rahni nullah and the Rothang La , while fake fur and pastel color frenzy erupted lower down as the winter rental gear shops opened one last (?) time for the season.
Farmers are also reported to be happy . I always support the farmers , even when it means the hour of public ground pad eating draws nearer. Maybe we can all go through this unscathed. Maybe.
Weather forecast promises heavy snow tonight . Ooops. Ordering cranberry sauce.
Good to know. I have been in a dilemma about if it would be worthwhile pursuing my summer trip to the Himalayas. The poor snowfall all over has been troubling me. Some good late snowfall would cheer things.
