Tribune talks of hundreds of tourists flocking to the Rothang La for a chance of snowballing. A spokesperson from the GREF says that they are busy re-opening the road up to Darcha (past Keylong ) , and will continue to keep it open until heavier snows falls on the Rothang.
HRTC buses continued to runon the Manali-Leh road to Keylong until the 20th , when the road was deemed too icy for the buses. Light vehicles still go up to Keylong.
A mountaineering institute in Manali has set up recue posts in Marhi and Koksar , on both sides of the Rothang, for those crossing on foot once the road goes out.
