I think the political interpretation of "last week " in April would be any point in time until the 30th. Cheap shots aside , the opening of the Srinagar-Leh road has probably stirred some bad blood between the BRO and their superiors : this time they´ll probably be less amenable to pressures of an early opening.

And yes , all this is very vague : I´d love to say that I had a "deep throat " source in the BRO , or a spiffy webcam trained on the Baralacha La : all I´m doing is reading the newspapers , and listening to a few people I´ve learned to trust.

Hi Vistet~!
This one was a very useful peiece of information that you wrote about.However,as mentioned in your post,Manali-Leh was supposed to beopened on 20th April,it's almost 25th April today,and haven't yet heard of it's opening.So,was just wondering,if you have any recent news of Manali-Leh road or not; Or,did the BRO people couldn't keep up with their scheduled dates due to bad weather or something;
Any further updates will be welcome.
Regards
